Ali Renault

Ali is “an engineer and an emotional diffuser of situations, enabling energy flow amongst the people”. However, despite his kindness, he often ends up being bullied by the other members of Human Shield who are jealous of his success.

Like Peter and Danny, Ali is from the leafy Roman theme park of Chester which happened to the North West of England nearly two thousand years ago.  Originally an early teen metaller, Ali started dying 14 years ago playing detroit techno and chicago house  at the legendary ‘le bateau’ club in Liverpool. Soon after he started to experiment with music production and started the Manchester based Stud Farm Vs Autogull with Tommy Walker 3 and a guy called John who wore skydiver glasses.

After being banished to London at the end of the last century, Ali took up actually learning how to make music and it really helped his work along.

Featuring heavily on Andy Blakes much lauded and now defunct ‘Dissident Distribution’ imprint, and with releases on Cyber Dance, Moustache and most recently France’s Zone label, Ali has built up something of a reputation as someone with quite a reputation on the underground dance music scene. When you take into account his work with powerful electro pop duo Heartbreak, it is clear that Ali has literally smeared himself across the music industry like an off tart.  Go Ali.

Apart from the usual rut of releases on a variety of labels, this year will see the release of Ali’s much feared début album. Expect bodice-ripping cold future Italo and sweaty tri-lingual disco epics.
